Department managers in PKN Orlen use SAP Manager Desktop

More than 30 managers of organizational units in PKN Orlen S.A. (one of the biggest producer and distributor of fuels in Central-Eastern Europe) manage teams of employees by means of SAP Manager Desktop. Functional solutions were implemented by Orlen specialists and BCC consultants.
SAP Manager Desktop is a solution in management self-service area which helps line managers handle work time, payroll and subordinates’ development.
Since February 2005 SAP Manager Desktop has been used in everyday work by more than 30 heads of Orlen departments in areas like finance, supply, production, sales and marketing.
The tool helps to report employees’ data, like education, qualifications, absences, business trips and holidays. With Manager Desktop managers can also control team budgets, like budget for payroll and training.
SAP Manager Desktop also provides information necessary for managing subordinates’ salaries. Jarosław Koziński, Payroll Manager in PKN Orlen, points out: “In order to have a motivation system that really works, department managers should have a possibility to participate in deciding on employees’ salaries. Uniting knowledge on employees’ activity and the information from theManager Desktop the heads may influence the efficiency of their teams. So the Manager Desktop is a tool that helps to improve the use of human capital in a company”.
SAP Manager Desktop in PKN Orlen is among the biggest in Poland in terms of scale. It processes the data of abort 6,000 concern employees. The project of starting the pulpit was a further stage of implementing mySAP HR, supported by BCC. PKN Orlen already uses a wide range of mySAP HR – from personnel administration and payroll to training and development management to travel management.
