Poli-Eco: Record breaking fast SAP implementation

It took only 4 months to implement SAP in key areas in Poli-Eco company in Żary. During that time the system was started in finance, controlling, materials management and sales and distribution. The implementation was carried out by 7milowy, a company from BCC group.
”Implementing a new system in such a short time was possible thanks to SPRINT solution, which is a preconfigured version of the SAP system. Thanks to its implementation methodology SPRINT helps to start SAP in much shorter time and at reduced costs”, explains Norbert Wierbiłowicz, SAP Project Manager in Poli-Eco for 7milowy.
”Fast implementation means significant savings for us. Not only in terms of project costs, but also in indirect costs, which mostly results from a smaller load on our employees”, says Maria Ćwiklik-Konofalska, chairman of Poli-Eco.
Poli-Eco is one of the biggest producers of finishing PCV articles in Poland. It manufactures skirting boards for floors, edges and skirting boards for furniture industry and sealing profiles for cooling industry. Its plants are located in Żary and Szprotawa, while in Piła, Sosnowiec and Otwock there are sales branches.
Quicker implementation was also caused by the necessity to implement controlling tools urgently. “Analyzing the data coming from our units used to take a long time, as did gathering information about costs and their structure. Currently sales data are saved directly in the system, which allows us to monitor sales volume constantly and estimate the profitability of particular products”, adds Ćwiklik-Konofalska.
Advanced controlling tools in the SPRINT system help efficiently manage current assets and an up-to-date analysis of the company’s financial liquidity. An integrated mechanism of cost simulation and calculation helps quickly identify any discrepancies between the actual and projected conditions and react immediately to correct them.
”Poli-Eco has taken advantage of experience gained by other companies that implemented SAP”, estimates Dorota Łukowska, SAP implementation manager for Poli-Eco. “We have found that designing a system from scratch is not useful. A better solution was adopting best practices included in SPRINT, e.g. in price policy or client relationship management.
7milowy targets its offer to dynamically developing middle-sized businesses, thus participating in SAP global initiative called mySAP All-in-One. Last year the company concluded 6 contracts for SPRINT implementation. Taking into account those contracts (and previous SPRINT implementations carried out by BCC), SPRINT solution is the most frequently chosen preconfigured system in Poland. SPRINT implementations executed or started by the end of 2005 cover the total of 32 entities. Thanks to the implementation in Scaninter group SPRINT has also become the first Polish package of mySAP All-in-One used abroad.
