Sanitec Koło, the biggest Polish producer of bathroom facilities, improves co-operation with its business partners and reduces the costs of communication by implementing EDI - electronic data interchange system. BCC manages the project, which consists in interfacing SAP solutions utilised by Sanitec, with systems operated by its suppliers and customers.
In October 2001, the first link between Sanitec and its customer became operative. Paper documents flow (order forms, confirmed order forms, invoices) was replaced by electronic data, significantly accelerating the interchange of data, reducing the labour-consuming paperwork and minimising the possibility of errors occurring while handwriting data. An in-coming order triggers the workflow process in SAP system. Its course may vary, depending on the sender and on the document type (for example: a normal order or an urgent order).
EDI implementation - continued for the next Sanitec business partners - is the first one from B2B series projects, being continued or scheduled in Sanitec Koło. At the moment, a project called "Available to promise goods" is being finalised. Customers will have an access to selected data from Sanitec SAP application via the Companys web pages.
Thanks to SAP Business Connector based architecture, all the data formats and types of links (EDI and dialogue work) are operated by one communicative server. Sanitec B2B solutions are completely outsourced; SAP Business Connector server operates under the supervision of administrators, in BCC server room.
