Selena implements SAP Business Intelligence with BCC

The Selena Group – a holding of companies that manufacture and distribute construction chemicals worldwide – implements the IT system SAP BI (Business Intelligence). The solution being deployed will significantly streamline the integration and analysis of data through supporting management processes in the company. The value of the investment is PLN 2.5 million and the project is being carried out by BCC.
SAP BI is a managerial information system that enables the consolidation and analysis of sales and financial results of the Group. In addition to the presentation of financial results and sales reporting, SAP BI offers solutions that support margin management, receivables portfolio management or inventory optimization. Furthermore, the system guarantees an online data access, which enables a company to be managed in a mobile way from any place in the world.
Since June 2010, the companies from the Selena Group can use the sales reporting module. In further stages of the project, the other elements of the system – controlling, planning and consolidation of data – will go live. The implementation work will be completed by the end of 2010.
“Due to the broad geographic reach of the Selena Group and complex nature of its internal structure, the expansion and modernization of the IT infrastructure is an extremely important step in the development of the company. The new system will provide rapid access to information, which will enable the market changes to be monitored on an ongoing basis and business decisions to be made based on up-to-date data. This will result in the optimization of financial, sales and administration processes, which will contribute to lowering the costs of doing business and will translate into an increase in the value of the Group”, said Krzysztof Domarecki, President of SELENA FM SA Management Board, a company managing the Group.
The strength of the BI solution is the SAP BW data warehouse that standardizes data storage and a reporting interface across the company. This system identifies, integrates and analyzes business data from various sources, including various IT systems, which is crucial for the Group bringing together 30 companies from 17 countries. This allows for efficient reporting for the whole holding: the consolidation of data from reporting systems of the companies and its presentation in any configuration.
